same old same old [07 Nov 2009|05:06am] ossie not much going on over here, pretty calm now that the adoption is final need to do some paperwork next week take some Automotive recertication tests tuesday and thursday get ready for the new owners to come in at work, they should be here by Dec 1st and plan to be around in the next few weeks looking at everyone to see who they keep or get rid of Hansi is doing ok, he seems to be getting more teeth and has been a little bothered with that and cried the entire time we tried to go out to the store to pick up a desk chair, he doesnt like going out at night it seems and the time change also added to the problem, he will be ok soon though it seems it only bothered him for a while and got up once during the night he has been learning that he can pull chairs out and climb on them to get on the table, so we now are in the mode of not taking an eye of him, that gets tough, since doing the simple things while he watches a tv show or plays now means that if we give him 10 seconds unsupervised he could be on the table, and also the couch is another place he likes to climb onto and leans over the sides too, so end tables will probably go next Amy was never the climber when she was little, so its different that he is a boy in every way Amy and Hans seem to be doing ok, didnt hear from them most of the week, but Amy called today and spoke with Jenni and all is ok working tomorrow, it will be the 11th day in a row, wish I made money on all of those days, but its been slow, hopefully with the new owners things get jump started quickly into more work I might go to the beach in the morning (probably 1 hour later) before work, I need to be at work on time anyway and since the time changed the sunrise is earlier and it would be a good thing to do before the stress of work, it would only be for a little while but a bad day at the beach is better than a good day at work, the weather continues to be great, not sure when we will see it in the 60s its been in the 80s all the time, hope everyone had a good week have a great weekend take care Ossie 3 Marlins fans| WATCHED the Yankees lose

Halloween went well [02 Nov 2009|11:45pm] ossie Saturday Amy came over to the house pretty early and spent the whole day with Jenni and Hansi, things went well and they went to the mall for trick or treating, Hans was working during the day and met up with them at the mall in the afternoon, and then we all ate Chinese later on, Hansi had fun with Halloween and was walking up to the stores asking for treats, the girls said it was very cute, and he had fun with the costume too, so that went over well too, plus he flew over the beach while the girls were not looking too, Amy passed her drug test at the probation office so thats a positive thing, it will always be a One Day At A Time thing with that though, but for that day she passed, hopefully she will go to the NA meetings that she needs to for probation too, and that will help her keep clean, a new month has come and we are getting closer to having new owners for the car dealer I work at, it will be interesting to see the changes, after working there for 30 years and knowing that things got fixed slowly when they broke, it will be good for new money coming into the place and fixing things up and rebuilding the place, they probably will tear the old place down after a while since its a very old building and needs a ton of work, they also bought the land/hotel next door so its possible they will build the dealer over there and leave this place open till they can merge everything together, supposedly its close and possibly will be Dec 1st when the changes happen, not really sure when we all need to reapply for a job but the techs are supposed to be safe, management not so lucky, it will be a great thing when the changes happen, can only get better now that the adoption is final I will try to get more stuff organized around here, hopefully clear out a few things weekly and focus on doing something next year on Ebay with whatever I can, I am not online as often as I used to be , usually after Jenni goes to bed I try to pop on and skim through LJ a little and facebook too, usually end up playing free online poker in the middle of the night, we probably will move the desk from Hansi's room to ours and add a computer in our bedroom then, I have a couple so having another live running all the time will add to computer time, since its a pain sometimes to turn the laptop on, its a older laptop what seems so heavy whenever I pick up someone elses up, if I ever come up with more money I would buy a netbook just ot surf the web with, I should start going to the beach before work too, although construction down the street I sue to go to the beach throws off the route a little and would probably stop me from going to the beach , since it would a couple of school zones into the mix, with the time change though it would be good to get out of the house earlier, there is a full moon out there, I will probably go out and take some photos too, although the old camera that took better pics needs a new battery since the others seem to die very quickly after charging now, and the one I use now doesnt seem to be the best for moon pics, I havent used a tripod in over 2 years it seems either, I need to get back into taking photos, we use our cell phones often for quick pics, other than that not much esle going on here, next holiday will be Thanksgiving , we usually go my Mothers, and Christmas over to my In Laws, maybe this year we will try to do more here, Christmas decorations will be interesting, we will be on a diet soon I think, we both know that things have gotten out of hand and now we need to eat better, or not so good depending on whether junk food is classed as good food or not, healthy smaller portions for us while giving Hansi all he needs too, the cats are ok too, and will need more attention next year, probably about a thousand dollars worth for the 3 cats, we should ask the humane society if they give cheaper shots and things, they are indoor cats and seem to be doing well and eat well, so not sure if they are behind with shots or not, for a while they went to the vets often, but not much since Hansi was born, hope everyone is doing well, I try to read LJ as much as possible, but I know I miss tons, esp if you post early in the morning, since I go back a few hundred entries at a time , Im sure I miss some I dropped a few more communities of my friends list and also people that had not updated in a while, and a couple that I knew could not be reading my entries at all, since they would not even know that I had a Grandson, dont worry you are all safe here I wont ever delete anyone that actually reads this I really do appreciate everyone on my friends list, I know you comment a lot better than I do, and even if you dont I know who is here its been a struggle the last few years and you have helped me get through the rough times, so thanks again, hope you have a great week take care Ossie 7 Marlins fans| WATCHED the Yankees lose

Happy Halloween [31 Oct 2009|06:15am] ossie I will go to work today dressed up as a mechanic, and hopefully sometime during the day will actually do some work as one too, going to try to leave early so I can come home and either cut the grass or hang out with Hansi Jenni and Amy, Amy will be coming over for most of the day I guess, since she might be able to get a ride early and wanted to be around Hansi for halloween not sure if the girls will go the Pumpkin patch and then maybe a mall for trick or treating, hopefully they will be out more than in, Hansi will be Superman, I will leave my camera here so that Jenni can get more photos, thats pretty much the plan for the day, and with Amy you never know when she will get here, or if something comes up, Hans is working during the day and they went out last night , so if they had a late night, Amy might be asleep for most of the day and miss the day out, I will be staying home later to give out candy, which we still have to get, I got one bag but its Snickers and Peanut M&Ms and thats not good for the younger kids, most years Halloween is pretty slow here, but this year it seems we have at least 5 or 6 new families in the area that should bring more trick or treaters I have to work tomorrow so yardwork should be done today instead, since the afternoon Sunday will be more sports related Television, Dolphins/Jets , Nascar etc work has been the slowest it has been in a while, hopefuly once the new owners come in next month things change fast, they are supposed to do away with the current dispatch system and have it dispatched through the computer, so that would stop most of the bad dispatching of the good work to one or two guys, it can only get better once they are here, the dealership needs to be rebuilt, not sure how fast they will build but they seem motivated to get it done right, whereas the current owner hasnt in the last ten years, so hopefully the 3 month probation period doesnt bring any suprises other than that all seems to be ok here, Hansi has a hoarse voice right now, hopefully he didnt pick something up with all the people holding him on Tuesday, I think it might be more that he constantly yells for things in a grunting type of way, once the words start coming out I think he will get his point across faster, hope everyone had a good week have a fantastic Halloween and a great weekend take care Ossie 2 Marlins fans| WATCHED the Yankees lose

It finally OFFICIAL [27 Oct 2009|04:17pm] ossie we have finally officially adopted Hansi, at 11:38am , October 27th 2009 , the judge declared it official. so thats it, no more worrying about what legal paperwork issues we will have, its all done, the next 16 and a half years before he turns 18 years old will be our responsiblity once he finishes high school he can go to a Florida (State) college for free, he also gets medicaid till he is 18 too , and we get some financial aid the court date went very well, we were supposed to be in at 10 but it was a little backed up, but then it didnt take long at all, lots of photos taken with the judge etc and friends and family that made it there, so thats where we stand, GRANDPARENTS parenting again the judge and lawyers kept calling us Mom and Dad, the papers will show us being Hansi's parents from now on, but we know we are his grandparents, and that Amy is his Mother, and Hans is the Father we still havent spoken to them yet, they didnt know when this day would be but the funny thing is that Jenni got a missed phone call just before we went in, it was Amy,she left a message saying their electricity was off, dont know what that means if its just a power outage or they forgot to pay their bill, either way its odd that the exact same time we were in court she would call, they called yesterday and left a message too, not sure what their state of mind is and how it will change when they realize the adoption is final, visitation will not change for a while till we feel they are drug free and emotionally stable, thanks for all your support for the last few years and more hope everyone is doing well have a great night take care Ossie 53 Marlins fans| WATCHED the Yankees lose

Sunday Morning Update [25 Oct 2009|07:48am] ossie Im not sure what today will bring I have a ton of things I need to do, yardwork that still hasnt been finished off from a few weeks ago, usually that would have been a slam dunk, get it done and then rest but there is the other stuff probably will be looking after Hansi while Jenni gets some of her stuff done instead, while watching him I could watch some English Football, while watching Nascar while watching American Football, that kind of Multi tasking is good but not very productive, there is also taking Hansi to the Pumpkin Patch to pick up a pumpkin and watch him run around there, although we might do that Tuesday after the adoption is final ,we have the afternoon and it will be less hectic, but Amy and Hans also wants to be there for the Pumpkin Patch, it will be done before Halloween, so its either today or Tuesday Baseball tonight, in between the 1st inning and the last I will head to the airport and pick up my Sister in Law and daughters , hopefully the weather in New York didnt spoil their trip. Tuesday at 10am will be the final hearing, a little lunch after , and then come home and make a ton of calls to make sure all the crap that needs to be changed is done correctly, since Medicaid for Hansi will be adjusted and that usually means some kind of mishap with paperwork, Social Security for him will also need to be addressed since we are dropping the last name on the birth certificate, we did not change Hansi's first or middle or our last name , just taking Han's last name off, so it will be easy to sort out, Im sure Hans will get upset about it, but I see it has something that had to be done, so much easier for him to explain done the road when growing up , instead of having 2 last names, work will get interesting with the new owners that are coming in, probably sometime in December, they seem to be a good company to work for, will need to reapply for a job, by itself that would be no problem at all, the fact that I have been with the same dealer for 30 years might be though, esp if the benefits for a 30 year company person is great, they might not want to pay the benefits my current benefits are pretty much just the 5 weeks vacation pay, which is the average of the last 12 weeks pay, which has gone downhill in the last few years, Im certified which is a good thing, so in general the application should go well enough to keep my job, unless the old managers put in their 2 cents and make up stuff, since they have their buddies that will need help keeping their jobs, including their own jobs, its actually something we have needed for a long while, having a dealer that wants to improve and go after new customers instead of being stagnant, Ive been saying that for a while, so other than that not much else going on here, my life continues to be boring but filled with Hansi , so its not too bad, finances should go up with the new dealer, I need to organize my stuff everywhere shame there is not 40 hours a day, I probably could get a lot done, its tough doing stuff quietly without waking everyone else up, so I do nothing hope everyone had a good week and is having a good weekend hope you are staying warm have a great day take care Ossie 4 Marlins fans| WATCHED the Yankees lose
